The interface and the NTS data are only for basic research purposes.
A user agrees to approach the NTS material as data, rather than identifiable objects.
Under the Copyright Act (404/1965), and its Section 14 (821/2005) publicly-available data may be reproduced "for use in educational activities or in scientific research and be used in this purpose for communication to the public by means other than transmitting on radio or television". As a result of the Digital Single Markets Directive of the European Union (2019/790) and under Section 2 (263/2023) of the revised copyright law of Finland, parallel copies may be produced and stored for text and data mining purposes.
The NTS operates under the FAIR principles, and the data and the results obtained are to be made publicly available for re-use and verification.
A user shall give due credit for the data by using the citation found in the "About" page.
As the NTS data are publicly available, potential risks and harm to research participants should be minimized.
